A state traitor who installed a video surveillance camera near a military facility was arrested in Sumy Oblast

Prosecutors in Sumy reported suspicion against a 34-year-old resident of Konotop under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — committing state treason under martial law.

According to the investigation, in June 2025, the Russian Federation's special services recruited the woman through one of the messengers. The suspect recorded the placement of military formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Konotop district and informed the enemy about the consequences of shelling, sending photos and videos.

Moreover, to fulfill the task of her curator, the suspect purchased and installed a surveillance camera near a military facility. The enemy was able to see everything happening in real-time. For the work done, the woman received a monetary reward.

In November 2025, she was detained by law enforcement. A preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to bail was chosen for her.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Sumy region under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
