Under the procedural guidance of the Bilozerkiv District Prosecutor's Office, a suspicion has been announced against an official of one of the hospitals in Bila Tserkva for abuse of office, which caused severe consequences for the interests of the state (part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for up to 6 years of imprisonment.

It has been established that the official, responsible for state procurement of medical supplies, entered into contracts for the supply of medicines at inflated prices. Monitoring of the “Prozorro” system showed that the prices at which the medicines were purchased were significantly higher than those established in the market for similar products in other tenders. 

The actions of the official led to the misappropriation of funds from the local budget of the Bilozerkiv City Territorial Community. According to the conclusions of the commodity and economic assessment expertise, the amount of damages amounted to 354 thousand UAH.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Bilozerkiv District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv Oblast.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
