Under the procedural guidance of the Cherkasy Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Central region, a serviceman has been notified of suspicion for demanding 3000 US dollars from a conscript for resolving the issue of obtaining documents for the establishment of his third group disability.

At the same time, he insisted on transferring half of the money as an advance, threatening that in case of non-payment, he would initiate the mobilization of the citizen into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and send him to the zone of active hostilities. 

After receiving the first part of the unlawful benefit in the amount of 1500 US dollars, the serviceman was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The detainee has been notified of suspicion of abuse of influence (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). A preventive measure in the form of detention has been chosen for him.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Zolotonosha District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Cherkasy region with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Cherkasy region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
