17.09.2025
The prosecutor's office of the autonomy has sent an indictment to the court against the head of the military-patriotic club "Varyag," who promotes service in the armed forces of the aggressor state among children and youth in Crimea. His actions have been qualified as violations of the laws and customs of war (part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in December 2017, in the city of Simferopol, the accused created and headed the "military-patriotic club 'Varyag'."
In particular, the leader of the organization conducts training for children aged 14 and older for military service in the enemy's army based on labor, sports, and pre-professional education.
To encourage more youth to participate in such "training," in 2020, in an interview with the propaganda media "Radio/Krym," the accused called on teenagers to contact specialized training centers that prepare mobilization reserves for the armed forces of the Russian Federation.
For these actions, he faces up to 12 years of imprisonment.
It is worth noting that the indictment against the head of "DOSAAF" of the Russian Federation in Crimea under part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is currently under consideration in court.
The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, with operational support from the Department of National Security of the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
