Militarization of children in LNR - is suspected
08.08.2025
Under the procedural guidance of the Luhansk Regional Prosecutor's Office, residents of Luhansk region have been notified of suspicion of committing a war crime by a group of individuals in conspiracy (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in 2022, a woman took a position in the governing body of the "Yunarmiya" of the so-called "LPR". She became a "member of the main headquarters of the children's and youth military-patriotic public movement 'Yunarmiya'".
The so-called "LPR" formation began operating in 2019. After the "annexation" of the pseudo-republic to the Russian Federation, it acquired a new status.
In her position, the suspect ensures the implementation of the aggressor country's policy regarding the involvement of children and teenagers in the ranks of "yunarmiyts", actively creating a positive atmosphere for the further enlistment of children into the armed forces of the Russian Federation. She also follows the directives of the occupation leadership and representatives of the aggressor country, contributing to the spread of propaganda among the youth and fostering loyalty to military service in the armed forces of the aggressor state.
She participates in organizing the transfer of humanitarian aid (food, drawings, letters) by underage participants of the movement to the soldiers of the occupying army. She delivers speeches praising the "heroes" of her side, participates in political events, and propaganda media campaigns in support of the occupying forces.
Her actions violate the norms of the Geneva Convention "On the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War" of 1949 and constitute a war crime, as international humanitarian law prohibits the promotion of military service among the civilian population, especially when directed at children.
Currently, the issue of declaring the suspect wanted is being resolved.
The pre-trial investigation and operational support are carried out by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
