A resident of Dnipropetrovsk region was detained on suspicion of cooperation with the special services of the Russian Federation

Under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a local resident has been exposed and detained for passing information about military infrastructure objects in the city of Dnipro to representatives of the Russian special services. He has been notified of suspicion of committing treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the 47-year-old man voluntarily agreed to cooperate with a representative of the aggressor state. Carrying out the tasks of the so-called curator, he transmitted photo and video materials of the territorial administration of the National Guard of Ukraine and one of the territorial recruitment and social support centers in the city of Dnipro via messenger.

The information obtained could be used by the enemy to adjust missile and other strikes on the city.

On January 1, 2026, the man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

At the prosecutor's request, the court chose a preventive measure for him — detention without setting the amount of bail.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is being conducted by investigators of the SBU in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
