The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office has sent materials to the court accusing the "senior operative officer of the Ministry of State Security of the DPR" of cruel treatment of a civilian.

Prosecutors, together with investigators from the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kherson region, established within the framework of a special pre-trial investigation that in the summer of 2022, an employee of the state-aggressor-controlled "MDB DPR" organized the illegal detention of a local resident near the "Kalanchak" checkpoint, who was trying to leave the occupied territory.

By his order, two armed Russian servicemen took the man outside the city of Skadovsk to a dug pit where the bodies of deceased individuals were located. There, a representative of the occupying power's structure applied psychological and physical violence to the victim: he fired a shot near the victim's head, simulating execution, and also struck him with the butt of an automatic weapon.

Subsequently, the victim was held in a guardhouse on the territory of one of the enemy-occupied boarding houses in Skadovsk. For the first four days, he was kept shackled to a metal stove, without food, in exhausting unsanitary conditions, and was beaten daily. The accused personally conducted interrogations and attempted to force the victim to cooperate with the enemy.

An indictment against him under part 2 of article 28, part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been sent to the court for consideration under the "in absentia" procedure, that is, in the absence of the accused. He is currently wanted.
