The prosecution against the deputy head of the educational institution, who transferred data on the forces of defense involved in the Kursk operation, was sent to the court

The Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office has approved and sent to court an indictment against a 44-year-old man who was "leaking" information about the Defense Forces involved in the Kursk operation to the occupiers.

According to the investigation, the deputy director of one of the educational institutions in Sumy region, being pro-Russian, agreed at the beginning of 2024 during a conversation in a messenger with like-minded individuals from the aggressor country to collect and provide them with the necessary information.

The occupiers were primarily interested in the locations and logistical routes of the Defense Forces in the territory bordering the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

To gather intelligence, the accused traveled by car through the border area under the guise of private matters and conducted covert photo and video recording of the locations of defenders, as well as documenting the movement routes of military equipment.

The collected data and exact coordinates were sent by the man to his curator from the aggressor country.

Currently, the accused is in custody without the right to bail.

His actions have been classified as the dissemination of information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations established in accordance with the laws of Ukraine and obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period (part 3 of Article 114-2 and part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation has been completed by the investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Sumy region under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office.
