Based on the principled position of the prosecutor of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Office of the Prosecutor General, the Supreme Court has definitively confirmed the validity of the claims in the case regarding violations of environmental legislation in the Zhytomyr region.

It has been established that an official of a forestry enterprise, during production activities, unlawfully removed and buried sawdust over an area of more than 1.5 hectares of forest land. This occurred without any permits and on a site not designated for the safe disposal of waste, which led to the deterioration of soil conditions.

The court of cassation dismissed the defendant's complaint and agreed with the prosecutor's arguments regarding the illegality of such actions.

As a result, the enterprise is required to pay over 1 million UAH to the local budget and is obligated to remove the wood processing waste, restoring the condition of the land plot.
