The Deputy Head of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Central Region proved in court the guilt of a serviceman in committing intentional grievous bodily harm that resulted in the death of the victim (Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). 

As a result of the injuries sustained - skull fractures, a brain contusion, and hemorrhages, the child died. 
It was established that in December 2024, the serviceman, while at his residence in Cherkasy region, acting intentionally and due to dissatisfaction with the behavior of his cohabitant's two-year-old son, threw the child to the floor twice.

The conclusions of the forensic medical examination confirmed that the death resulted from a severe head injury sustained from several blows with a blunt object.

The court agreed with the position of the prosecution, taking into account the severity of the committed criminal offense, the circumstances of the case, and the personality of the accused, who had previously been held criminally liable and committed a criminal offense while having an unserved sentence from a previous verdict.
By the verdict of the Smila City District Court of Cherkasy Region, the serviceman was found guilty and sentenced, taking into account the addition of the unserved sentence from the previous verdict, to imprisonment for a term of 9 (nine) years.

Until the verdict takes legal effect, he will remain in custody.
