Under the public prosecution of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 57-year-old man has been found guilty of violating traffic safety rules, which resulted in the death of several individuals (part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The traffic accident occurred in August 2024. 

The man was transporting schoolchildren for a vacation. He exceeded the permitted speed limit by almost twice, as a result of which he lost control and allowed the bus to leave the roadway. After that, the bus hit a concrete block and overturned.

As a result of the accident, a woman and a minor girl were killed. Six other children and two adults sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity.

The accused fully admitted his guilt and expressed remorse for his actions.

He was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment and deprived of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 3 years.
