The coastal attachment of the Kremenchug reservoir with losses of over UAH 1.5 million - suspected the former official of the construction company and engineer of a private company

According to the investigation materials, in December 2023, the Regional Office of Water Resources in the Poltava region and a construction company from Kyiv signed a contract for the shore reinforcement works of the Kremenchuk Reservoir in the village of Mozoliyivka. A private engineering firm from Poltava was involved in the technical supervision of the works.

The chairman of the construction company, with the assistance of the technical supervision engineer, embezzled budget funds by inflating the volumes and costs of the actual works performed, amounting to over 1.5 million UAH, as confirmed by the conclusion of a comprehensive judicial construction-technical and economic expertise.

Currently, the former chairman of the company has been notified of suspicion under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (embezzlement of someone else's property by abuse of office, committed on a particularly large scale, under martial law).

The technical supervision engineer is suspected of aiding in the commission of the specified crime (Part 5 of Article 27, Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The procedural leadership of the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is carried out by prosecutors of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of Poltava region. Investigative actions and operational support are provided by the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Criminal Investigation Department in the Poltava region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
