With the support of the public prosecution by the prosecutors of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, a previously convicted resident of the Kherson district for serious crimes has been found guilty of raping a person with whom he is in a family relationship (part 2 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

By the court's verdict of October 7, 2025, he was sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment.

The prosecutor proved that the crime occurred in February 2024 at the residence of the accused and the victim. The man, using physical force, committed the rape of his elderly mother.

In court, the man denied his guilt; however, his statements were refuted by the evidence collected by the prosecution — protocols of the crime scene examination, the results of expert examinations, as well as the testimonies of the victim and a witness, which the court duly assessed.

Until the verdict comes into legal force, the man will be held in custody.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Kherson District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kherson region.
