Prosecutors of the Kropyvnytskyi District Prosecutor's Office reported suspicions against three men for the illegal transportation of individuals across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The criminal group organized a scheme to transport men of conscription age across the border for $7,000 to $10,000 per person. The organizer, a citizen of Ukraine who has been living in Germany since 2021, involved three residents of Kirovohrad and Zhytomyr regions. They selected "clients," transported them, and accompanied them to the border.

The border crossing was planned through the Zhytomyr region: conscripted individuals were to cross on foot into Belarus, and from there to Poland, bypassing checkpoints. One of the suspects provided accommodation and instructions.

The investigation documented the transfer of $7,700, the delivery of three individuals to the border, and seized part of the funds during six searches. The suspects have been chosen a preventive measure – detention with the possibility of bail set at 1 million UAH each. They face up to 9 years in prison.

Measures are also being taken to hold the organizer of the scheme, who is abroad, criminally liable.

The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the Kropyvnytskyi Police Department, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
