Under the public prosecution of the prosecutors of the Odesa Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Southern region, a resident of Odesa region was found guilty of providing unlawful benefits to an official and organizing the illegal transportation of individuals across the state border of Ukraine. 

The court sentenced him to 7 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property and a ban for 3 years on holding positions related to the protection of the state border in state authorities and local self-government.

Prosecutors proved that the convicted individual, acting in collusion with unidentified persons, organized the illegal transportation of two conscripted men across the state border of Ukraine. He also provided a border guard with an unlawful benefit of 1500 US dollars for information about the location of border patrols and technical security means.

The offender was detained immediately after handing over the money.

The actions of the convicted individual were qualified under part 1 of article 369 and part 3 of article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Rozdilna District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in Odesa region.
