Prosecutors of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office submitted an indictment to the court on October 30, 2025, against a former official of the forestry branch for the improper performance of official duties (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It was established that at the beginning of 2024, the acting director of one of the branches of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine," lacking special permits, allowed illegal logging in the landscape reserve of local significance "Mosty" in the territory of the Kamianske district.

This reserve is a part of Ukraine's natural reserve fund, covers an area of over 2.3 thousand hectares, and is protected by the laws of Ukraine.

As a result of the destruction of valuable tree species, the state incurred damages amounting to 6.9 million UAH.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the third investigative department (located in the city of Dnipro) of the Territorial Administration of the State Bureau of Investigation in Poltava.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner.
