Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Kropyvnytskyi Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Southern region, a serviceman was detained while attempting to provide an unlawful benefit to a public official.

According to the investigation, in October 2025, the serviceman offered the battalion commander 4,000 USD to obtain permission to leave the military unit and for further unhindered movement within the territory of Ukraine. 

It is important to note that during wartime, personnel in military units are subject to barracks regulations: release is only possible under clearly defined circumstances, and leave is granted only in exceptional cases. 

The serviceman was detained during the transfer of the first part of the unlawful benefit ‒ 2,000 USD.

His actions have been classified under Part 3 of Article 369, Part 2 of Article 15, and Part 4 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

At the request of the prosecutor's office, the court chose a preventive measure for the detainee in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 211,960 hryvnias.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators and operational staff of the Territorial Administration of the State Bureau of Investigation in Mykolaiv (with deployment in Kropyvnytskyi).

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
