On September 13, 2025, for 50 minutes, the Russian armed forces shelled Kostiantynivka with artillery and the "Smerch" multiple rocket launcher. Once again, a residential neighborhood came under enemy fire. As a result of the attack, three civilians aged 33, 76, and 78 were killed. Four women aged 42 to 59 and three men aged 27, 59, and 61 were injured at their places of residence. They were diagnosed with blast injuries, shrapnel wounds, and an open fracture. Their condition is assessed by doctors as moderate.

In the settlement, 14 private and apartment buildings and a passenger car were damaged.

Under the procedural guidance of the Kostiantynivka District Prosecutor's Office, pre-trial investigations have been initiated in criminal proceedings regarding the commission of war crimes (parts 1 and 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Prosecutors are taking all possible and necessary measures to document the consequences of the shelling of the civilian population.
