Prosecutors of the Kirovohrad Regional Prosecutor's Office have notified the acting director of the Oleksandriia Professional Agrarian Lyceum of suspicion for receiving unlawful benefits (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the head of the educational institution demanded and received unlawful benefits from two conscription-age men — 2,000 USD from each. For this money, he guaranteed a positive decision regarding their enrollment in full-time education. By obtaining the status of students in vocational education, the men had the right to deferment from mobilization. The head of the lyceum also guaranteed education at the expense of the budget and a scholarship for the entire period of study.

The official was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine while receiving the entire amount of unlawful benefits.

The sanction of the article provides for up to ten years of imprisonment. Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved – detention.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
