According to the investigation, in October 2025, the director of enterprises whose main activities are sawmilling and planing organized an illegal scheme for logging.

To do this, he involved a forester from one of the forestry enterprises of the "Central Forestry Office" of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine".

In exchange for an unlawful benefit from the entrepreneur, the forester ensured illegal logging and sale of oaks outside the official records from the Cherkasy and Kirovohrad regions.

The owner of the production ensured the transportation of unaccounted timber to the Rivne region for processing and storage. After that, it could be sold through two companies under his control.

It has been documented that during October, nearly 100 cubic meters of timber were exported under this scheme.

The amount of unlawful benefit amounted to over 2 million UAH.

Both men were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine after the entire agreed sum was transferred.

Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the entrepreneur was notified of suspicion of providing unlawful benefits to a public official (part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and the forester was charged with receiving unlawful benefits in particularly large amounts (part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Investigative actions are ongoing, and all individuals involved in the illegal activities are being identified.

The issue of choosing preventive measures for the suspects and imposing a seizure on their property is being resolved.
