A resident of Sloviansk was sentenced to 15 years in prison for treason in a state of war (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). 

Prosecutors proved that in August 2024, the man, supporting the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, began communicating with a serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces. During the correspondence in the banned social network "Odnoklassniki," he agreed to assist a representative of the enemy army in conducting subversive activities aimed at harming the defense capability of our state. 

At the curator's request, the agent sought out the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine units in the Kramatorsk district. Over the course of a week, the suspect sent him 6 text and graphic messages. In the correspondence, the convicted individual revealed, among other things, the locations of military personnel who were at that time in Sloviansk. 

Furthermore, the so-called scout focused the recruiter’s attention on the equipment and checkpoints where thorough checks of vehicles were conducted. At the same time, the local resident pointed out the highways that, among other things, were used by civilian transport, realizing that the coordinates he provided could allow the occupiers to carry out fire strikes.

The illegal actions of the citizen were uncovered and stopped. At the request of the prosecutors, he awaited the court's verdict in custody. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
