Prosecutors from the Department for the Protection of Children's Rights and the Prevention of Domestic Violence of the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office defended a fair punishment in the appellate court – 15 years of imprisonment – for a 34-year-old resident of Lutsk, a citizen of the Russian Federation, found guilty of repeatedly raping a 12-year-old girl (parts 4, 6 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It was proven that in October 2023 and March 2024, a man with a prior conviction, who was visiting the house, climbed into bed with the sleeping child and raped her.

The convicted individual is in custody.

The court's verdict has entered into legal force.

The pre-trial investigation and court proceedings were conducted in compliance with all requirements of legislation on justice, child-friendly, to avoid re-traumatizing the child who suffered violence.  

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the Lutsk District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the region.
