With the support of the public prosecution by the prosecutors of the Slobidsky District Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv, the court found a 42-year-old man guilty of the rape of a minor (Part 4 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was sentenced to 13 years in prison.

Prosecutors proved that in 2019, the defendant raped his stepdaughter, who was only 12 years old at the time. The perpetrator continued to commit sexual acts systematically. In addition, the stepfather applied psychological pressure on the girl and threatened her: he periodically placed a knife next to him.

The perpetrator did not admit guilt, but he refused to provide any explanations regarding the circumstances of the criminal offense he is accused of.

Despite this, the guilt of the defendant is confirmed by the evidence collected during the pre-trial investigation and examined directly by the court.

According to the court's decision, information regarding the man will be included in the Unified Register of Persons Convicted of Crimes Against the Sexual Freedom and Sexual Integrity of Minors.
