12 years in prison for cooperation with the occupying power - condemned by Kherson resident

With the support of the public prosecution by the prosecutors of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, the court found a local resident guilty of collaboration activities (part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment with a prohibition on holding positions in state authorities, local self-government, and law enforcement agencies, as well as engaging in activities related to the provision of public services for a period of 15 years.

It was proven that during the occupation of Kherson, the man collaborated with the enemy and was employed in the illegally created "law enforcement agency" — "Institution IK 'Northern Correctional Colony (No. 90)' of the Department of the Execution of Sentences in the Kherson Region".

Later, he continued his service in the structure of the occupation penitentiary system in "Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 1". The convicted individual carried out criminal orders from the occupiers, acting contrary to the norms of international law and standards of treatment of prisoners.

Until the sentence takes legal effect, the man will be held in custody.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region.
