In Kiev, a woman who traded cars imported from abroad as humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces was detained

Prosecutors of the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv have notified a 47-year-old woman of suspicion for organizing the illegal sale of cars imported into Ukraine as humanitarian aid for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Her actions have been classified under part 3 of Article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
It has been established that a resident of the Kyiv region had been importing cars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the guise of a charitable foundation that existed only "on paper." The cars were brought in as humanitarian aid, but the military did not receive them. She sold the imported vehicles through advertisements on social media and on the OLX platform.
The woman attempted to sell 3 cars. She was detained while receiving money in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
In total, 4 cars were seized from the suspect during searches, including a Peugeot Boxer, Suzuki Grand Vitara, KIA Sorento, and a BMW that she kept for herself.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 7 years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv under the procedural guidance of the Pechersk Police Department with operational support from the Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
